I Am SO Glad that I Joined Ditch the Diet

My mother took me to my first Scottish Slimmers class when I was 15. I weighed 10.5 stones. Fast forward 40 years and I wish I was that light. In those 40 years, I have probably lost about 40 stones overall.

Unfortunately, it was half a stone off, 10 lbs on. I tried every diet going- all the big classes Slimming World, Scottish Slimmers, WW, some magazine diets, “diet sheets” passed on from people at work and some I made up myself. Nothing really worked for good.

Then I came across the Ditch the Diet Academy and I found hope.

I was quite emotional about it at first because I felt if this did not work, that was it for me. Thankfully it did work.

The Diet Declutter was first.

It set me up mentally to get rid of the mental baggage as well as the “diet” food.

Then it was T21. I loved the structure of the support network and really looked forward to the daily emails. I was learning about portion control and how to build my meal plan. It felt great.

I couldn’t believe how free I felt – no bad foods, no Sunday night binge before starting my diet on Monday, no obsessing about food.

I also began walking more and signed up to Zumba class.

The Ditch The Diet Academy saw a series of weekly learning and follow-up exercises. I enjoyed learning about how my body works and had a few “ah-ha” moments. Things started to make sense – like the healthy breakfast of Muller Lights and banana – free on SW at the time, but full of sugar.

This is not a fantastic fairy-tale. The weight did not just fall off as they tell you in the slimming magazines.

Yes, I have lost weight and inches and reversed my Type 2 Diabetes, but that is down to applying what I have learned, getting off my bum and moving more and making use of the wonderful support network of at Ditch The Diet, from the courses to my mentor, fellow members and of course Rachael. I am so glad I joined.

"All in or all out" Rachael is a vibrant, no-bullshit-talking Scottish nutrition geek and coach helping women to lose weight without giving up their confidence OR their favourite foods.
